Annual Pinning Ceremony
Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center
Commemorate the start of your college career at the University of the Incarnate Word by participating in this very special UIW tradition. The Annual Pinning Ceremony is a symbol of your promise to achieve personal and academic success. Your friends and family will serve as witnesses to this commitment. Receive the first-year university pin to symbolize your connection to the UIW community. This pin is also a symbol of the start of your collegiate journey as the pin carries the same university seal that your class ring will have upon commencement.
Flight of the Cardinals - Freshman Jersey
Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at 4 p.m.
Location: Side of the Ann Barshop Natatorium
At UIW’s first home football game, the Class of 2029 will be honored as special guests! Freshmen who purchase an official class jersey will take part in exciting pre-game traditions, including Red's Rally Run, a spirited walk through Tailgate Alley alongside the Spirit Team, a pass by the Bronze Cardinal for good luck, and a celebratory run across the football field!
Freshman jerseys are available for $30 and can be purchased at orientation or online.
Once your jersey is ready, the Office of Campus Engagement will email you at your UIW address with details on pick-up time and location.
To ensure your jersey is ready for Red's Rally Run, please make your purchase by July 31, 2025.
